China girls don't shave their hair. I mean not all of them but a lot of them, too.
Why?
In most (all?) of Asia, including China, pubic hair is considered sexy and womanly. Most Asian men are aroused by women's pubic hair (or so I've been told, by various different Asian women).

I have learned that in China rural areas, people will not go to shower for 2 to 3 days and they believe they are still clean. Given the nature of the place that has no water supply, people might go for days not showering.
It's the same in many parts of Europe, Latin America, and Africa as well. I've had French friends criticize Americans as being overly hygienic / germaphonbic, especially with the "showering every day" thing. There was a time where I showered twice a day, in morning and at night. Totally insane, looking back. I quit daily showers before I ever left the States... my showers are longer (I shower very thoroughly), and eventually it started seeming like a waste of time for me to be taking long showers every day. Nobody noticed, and I felt fine. In fact, when I was back in college, I ran an experiment to see what would happen if I didn't shower for 10 days. Would I become a grease ball? Would I start to smell like a trash heap? Nope. I was working a job that required hard labor in a smelly auto shop, and I was working out 3 days a week too, and I still didn't smell too bad (and I asked people to tell me if they could smell me, too).

As for shaving their armpit hair? Yeap, This girls really don't know that. They think it's natural, given the poor state of the area.

Depends on the girl, how long she's lived in the city, and how Westernized she is. It's becoming increasingly common for Chinese women to shave their armpits. If she's been in the city for a year or more, and she's not super low class (e.g., a cleaning lady or a fast food worker or something; if she speaks some English, you're fine), her armpits are going to be shaved 90% of the time.
