What would happen if people like Nikola Tesla, Isaac Newton, Dennis Ritchie, Einstein and many other geniuses that helped shape the humanity decided to do daygame instead of working on things that enable you to read this?

What if Mark Zuckerberg worked on his "game" for a decade and as a result he was able put his genitals in 150 mouths/vaginas?
Would he be the man he is now?

Actually this is interesting.

I've always thought that the actual bettering of humanity doesn't come for humanity as a whole, but mostly from a rather small percentage of people that carry the load of research and innovation.
The rest is just background infrastructure, mostly.

The idea of the "single genius" is also disappearing, most progress doesn't come from the Leanardo da Vincis who provided 30% of his time's invention, but from bigger team efforts by analytical minded engineers and mathematician, by people who put their lives into science.

Some of these people might even be diverted by pick up, but not more, and likely much less, than other "resource hoggers" such as whores, drugs, depression, health issues, family issues etc. etc.
Even more so considering that some of the "100% science devotees" tend to be less good at social stuff and hence are also more likely to just consider it "not their thing" or unworthy of their time.

Add up the fact that it's a niche phenomenon.

So, no, "game" doesn't hinder human progress in any significant way. -and likely balances what it takes away from productive people by taking some others off of, say, drugs-.
