Hey guys,

I've been sitting on this neat little vocal tonality trick for a while. I learned it from The Office. Unfortunately, I can't find the exact episode - even though I've rewatched the whole series like 7 times.

Anyways, this vocal tonality conveys a high level of friendliness and familiarity. When using it, you will often find that people mimic the tonality in their reply.

Upon meeting someone, when you say, "hows it going?" or "how are you?" or something similar, you should:

A) Say the first few words relatively quickly.
B) Drag out the last vowel sound of the last word. Eg. Hows it gooooing?
C) End on an upper inflection.

Exactly like this: https://clyp.it/npbnqumi

Try it out, and let me know how it works for you.
