Dude yes that was an excellent outing 
In these kinds of situations it's a sort of a balance between pickup and just bringing the energy and having a good time, you can dance and grind on lots of girls and be the man of the hour, but unless you are focused on the pickup side as well you can be caught by surprise as it begins to empty out.
